(Just for the record, this is always the part of my web site that I hate writing. It always reminds me of that dreaded interview question, "So tell me about yourself...")
I'm Eric Schmidt. Before you ask, no, I'm not the Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Google. That Eric Schmidt wears more expensive suits than I do.
I'm a graphic designer/photo retoucher currently residing in Kalamazoo, Michigan. My primary focus is digital retouching, but I also provide a wide range of design services, including traditional print work (e.g., advertising and brochures); business identity (logo design, business cards, letterhead); and web site design.
I have extensive knowledge of all the major design software programs, including QuarkXPress, InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. More importantly, I know how to use this technology to improve workflows and get great results.
(Yes, I know that sounds very boring. In a nutshell, I have glamorous nicknames like "Quark Nerd" and "Photoshop Geek." You don't earn those titles by being a slacker.)
A bit of history: I've been in the Kalamazoo area since I graduated from Michigan State in 1996. My first job out of school was with a business-to-business magazine called Business Insight. In 1999 I took my skills to Biggs-Gilmore Communications, where I worked as a production designer for three years.
In mid-2002, I left Biggs-Gilmore to start my own gig and explore some other outside interests (teaching at a community college, web development, etc.), and I haven't looked back.
(OK, you didn't ask for my life story. I'll wrap it up.)
Bottom line: I work hard, I work smart, and I work well. If you can use someone like that, please let me know.
